My recent tech purchase errors have been numerous, primarily thinking my new Panasonic TV would supports a Plex app which was a $3000 "mistake". I want to stream files in Atmos and I also have a lot of Flac 5.1 music files I want to play. I am using a Sony STR-DN1080 AV Receiver and Panasonic OLED TV TH-65HZ1000Z which does not support the Plex app.
I can provide log files if necessary.I am thinking of getting Chromecast with Google TV as a cheaper alternative to Nvidia Shield TV pro. The only thing I can think of is if the network cache on the Plex app is not big enough to support fluctuations in the bitrate or of my network connection. When doing the same two movies on direct play to my Pixel 3, the server outputs 60-70 Mbps and 80-90 Mbps, respectively and the stream plays smoothly and flawlessly. The same when I am direct playing a movie averaging 89 Mbps: output speeds from my server is ~60 Mbps.
